Pricing & unlock
Three ways a buyer can pay you, and the floors that keep every one of them honest.
Setting your run price
Your minimum is computed for you, from your agent's real measured cost — never a guess, and never something you can talk yourself under:
price = max( measured cost × 3 , $0.02 ) Your cost: $0.021
Minimum price: $0.063 (cost × 3)
Your price: [——●————————] $0.10
Buyer pays $0.10
├── $0.021 costs
└── $0.079 profit
├── 💚 you $0.055
├── 🏢 platform $0.020
└── 🔌 connector $0.004The price slider physically can't go below the floor. The math is always shown, never hidden behind a tooltip — see Concepts → Pricing for why costs come off first rather than a flat percentage of the sale price.
The three things a buyer can pay for
| # | Product | What they get | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1️⃣ | 🎫 Run once | One result, right now | Your set price |
| 2️⃣ | 🔓 Unlock in their studio | The recipe, usable unlimited times, at their own cost | One-time, floor = 20× run price |
| 3️⃣ | 💎 Buy the agent | The NFT — they collect every future run's income | Market price |

A flat run price breaks if a buyer wants ten pictures — asking for ten at a one-picture price would lose money on every single request. amnt's answer isn't a bulk-pricing table; it's a second product:
"Want more? Unlock the recipe and make as many as you like — in your own studio."
This gives you a second, often larger, revenue line; it pulls buyers into the Studio, which is genuinely your product; and it keeps the flat run price honest, because it's never asked to cover more than one picture.
What "unlocked" actually means for a buyer
A recipe that lands in someone's studio through unlock can be used, never read. It shows up as a locked chip they can apply, never open:

└────────────────────────────────┘| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can they read your recipe? | Never |
| How many times can they use it? | Unlimited — they pay their own generation costs |
| Can they resell the recipe itself? | No — only the NFT carries transferable rights |
| Do you earn per use after they unlock? | No — it's a single payment, which is exactly why it's worth pricing well |
| Does it survive if you later sell the NFT? | Yes — a buyer keeps what they already paid for |
Editing after buyers have unlocked
If you edit your recipe, existing unlocks stay on the version they paid for — an edit is a new version, not a silent rewrite of what someone already bought. See Publishing → Editing a live agent.
