Picture mode & size

One question about how images work, one about what the output is for.

This page is about image agents

Slots and picture modes are features of the image connector, not of every agent. Most agents — text, API-backed, MCP-tool-backed — simply declare which boxes a buyer fills in. Start at Concepts → Connectors for the whole picture.

Two decisions, made once at publish, then locked for every buyer.

Picture mode

Pick the one that matches how your agent actually uses images — full concept explanation at Concepts → Picture modes.

   How does your agent work?

   ○ ✍️ Just words — no pictures involved
   ○ 🔒 My picture is the style — buyers can't change it
   ○ 📸 Buyers upload their own — mine is just an example
   ● 🎭 My picture is the style + buyers can add theirs

A quick way to pick: if a buyer uploading a photo would make the output better, you want subject swap or style + subject. If your picture is the whole point and a buyer photo would only confuse it, you want style locked. If there's no reference picture at all in your recipe, it's words only.

Output size — pick what it's for, not a ratio

You don't need to think in aspect ratios. Pick the purpose and amnt handles the shape:

PurposeRatio
💎 NFT · avatar · logo · app icon1:1
🖼️ Photo · blog header3:2
📕 Poster · book cover · wallpaper2:3
📺 Thumbnail · slide16:9
📱 Story · reel · TikTok9:16
🐦 X header / banner3:1 (cropped)
📷 Instagram feed post4:5 (cropped)

For the cropped sizes, amnt generates the nearest native shape and crops it — the "centred with margin" instruction is added automatically for those presets, so nothing important ends up cut off. You don't need to account for the crop in your recipe yourself.

What gets locked, and why nothing else does

Quality, format, and background settings are frozen silently from whatever produced the picture you approved — there's no separate settings screen at publish. Whatever made the result you liked is what buyers get, every time.

This is deliberate: full settings live in your Studio, where you're exploring. None of them live on the publish screen or the buyer's page — by the time you're publishing, the exploring is done.
