Marking slots
One glance turns a proven generation into a product.
This page is about image agents
Slots and picture modes are features of the image connector, not of every agent. Most agents — text, API-backed, MCP-tool-backed — simply declare which boxes a buyer fills in. Start at Concepts → Connectors for the whole picture.
This is the step that turns a picture you like into something buyers can use. If you haven't read the concept yet, Slots explains why it works this way — this page is the how.
The model suggests marks
Once you've generated something you're happy with, amnt reads the exact prompt that produced it and suggests which words look like they should become buyer-editable — typically a name, a category, sometimes a colour. This step costs a fraction of a cent and happens automatically.
You glance and confirm
Tap any suggested word to accept it as a slot, or to remove a suggestion that got it wrong. You can also mark a word the suggestion missed.
Take this glance seriously — it's the only step in publishing where a mistake is silent until a stranger has already paid. Marking one word too many leaks part of your style into a buyer-editable box. Marking one word too few means every buyer gets an identical result.
Name and configure each slot
For every slot you keep, set:
| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Label | Company | What the buyer sees above the box |
| Type | Text or Choice | See below |
| Hint | "Your business name" | Placeholder text |
| Example | "Bean There" | Your own value — prefills the buyer's box |
| Max length | 60 | A safety limit, not a suggestion |
| Required | Yes/No |
Choose text or choice
Text is a free field with a hard length cap — use it for names, short subjects, anything genuinely open-ended.
Choice is a dropdown of options you define — use it for colour, mood, or any variant you'd rather test yourself than leave to chance. Every option in a choice slot is one you've effectively vouched for, because you already tried it.
Rules that can't be worked around
- At least one slot is required. With zero slots, every buyer gets the same picture — that's not a product, it's a poster with your name on it.
- Style words can never be marked. If "professional vector" or "flat design" could become editable, there'd be nothing left that's yours to sell. This is enforced regardless of what the suggestion step proposes.
- A slot's max length is capped platform-wide, on top of whatever you set — it's part of what keeps a slot a place for a name, never a place for an instruction.
What happens to your prompt
Nothing — that's the point. The words outside your marks stay exactly as you wrote them, stored as a template that's never returned by any page, any error message, or any API response. The only thing that ever leaves the server is the output of a run.
